History


Ran Sheller, owner and operator of The Finishing Touch entered the world of antique furniture repair at an early age. During high school furnishings for family and friends filled all available work space. While attending and then working for MU, repair and refinish work mostly by hand with little machinery, was extra income for a young family. After 26 years in business much has been learned by heart and by hand. Repeat business and word of mouth maintain and expand our customer base.


We have Jon Sheller, son of owner Ran Sheller, Ken Bryant and Derek Curtis busy everyday to meet our customer's needs.


  • Jon has been in the shop since age 11 and can produce a quality of craftsmanship often not seen in someone twice his age.
  • Ken Bryant is a skilled furniture technician and has been with The Finishing Touch almost from the beginning. With over 30 years of furniture experience, we are glad to have his talents available to our customers.
  • Derek Curtis is our youngest hire learning and earning his way into the furniture refinishing hall of fame.
